Virginia National Ballet School Spring Recital Fairfax Theatre reviews
Disappointed with sound crew & Ledisi Performance
The sound crew that worked the Ledisi & Musiq Soulchild sets was highly disappointing. The sound crew never got it right, with muffled sound and no clarity evident. In the Musiq Soulchild set, the mic's of the two background singers drowned out Musiq and the band. It became painfully obvious when the sound crew for Virginia National Ballet School Spring Recital changed out for his performance, and WOW what a difference with the same equipment/mixing boards.
Ledisi's performance was very disappointing. As the opening act, she only had one background singer and one acoustic guitar player. She sang a total of 5 songs in a span of 20 minutes and left. Expected way more from a 6 time Grammy nominated artist as she kept pointing out during her very brief performance.
On the other hand, Virginia National Ballet School Spring Recital brought it. Great show and showmanship. The saving grace of the whole show.
